After dinner speaker Sharon Wright is best known for her business appearance on the BBC’s, Dragons' Den show, with her invention of Magnamole, aiming to revolutionise domestic and commercial cable installation globally. A terrific retail speaker for business events, Sharon understands the essential components to corporate success. Sharon's inspirational story began with her leaving school at the age of 16 having obtained just four O Levels, she became one of the many thousands who signed up to the Youth Training Scheme (YTS) Scheme. Even from the outset of her career, her drive, determination and sheer tenacity meant she became the best in whichever field she applied herself to. Her roles included Quality Assurance Manager, Safety Manager and eventually National Sales Manager for a firm in Rotherham.
Whilst moving into a new home in 2006, her eureka moment assembled itself whilst watching a frustrated BT engineer trying to thread a cable through one of her cavity walls. Her invention of Magnamole uses a simple yet ingenious set of magnets and cable in order to easily push cables through both solid and cavity walls. Sharon managed to use her passion and determination to make her business a success. Magnamole began to receive product recognition in foreign countries, including the USA, whilst also getting approval from major telecom companies in the process. Discussing the process of creating an international brand as a retail speaker, Sharon has extensive experience of launching products on both a B2B and B2C basis.
In 2009, Sharon appeared on the hit BBC show Dragons' Den. Among a select few to be considered a Dragon Slayer, she impressed every judge to the point where she ended up selling her company’s shares at a higher price than she had originally pitched to them. Before Sharon, the Dragons had never had to head to the back of the room themselves in order to negotiate an appropriate deal that could attract the investee. As an after dinner speaker, Sharon delivers anecdotal tales her time in the spotlight and what tyne dragons are really like. However, after being disillusioned by working with the Dragon’s she turned down there offer of equity and sold 10% of her company for £100,000 to a private investor. Sharon has gone on to write a book “Mother of Invention” and started a new company; providing podcasts for inspirational speaking that can be used by businesses, schools and universities alike. A motivational and enthusiastic after dinner speaker and retail speaker, Sharon’s passion for peak performance and extracting the best out of people makes for a wonderful highlight to your event.
