Flight Of The Conchords

The Flight of the Conchords are a leading guitar-based folk comedy duo, considered to be the 4th most popular in New Zealand. Jermain and Bret formed the duo after they met at Victoria University, and have since become a highly popular choice for event entertainment. Over their years of establishment, the duo has filmed their own TV pilot, starred in two sitcom series, released full-length albums and released an EP. Having met as part of an acting group, Jermain and Bret formed a band originally named Moustache. Joined by their friends Toby and Tim, they played their first gig at the Thursday night Comedy Club, changing their name to Flight of the Conchords. For the following two years, the band performed at the Thursday Comedy Club with numbers such as Lullaby, Albi the Racist Dragon, Leggy Blonde and Bus Driver. They later went on to perform at the Canadian Fringe Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, winning the Mervyn Stutter Spirit of the Fringe Award.

Incorporating the unique DG20 Casio-Tone Digital Guitar into the band mix, the Flight of the Conchords were commissioned to make a six-part radio series by the BBC Light Entertainment Department. They have also been invited to perform at the Aspen Comedy Festival, where they were recognised by HBO and commissioned to perform on the stand-up comedy show One Night Stand. They have also starred on the HBO sitcom Flight of the Conchords, a sitcom that followed fictional versions of Jermain and Bret on the journey to achieve success in New York City. The pair have also appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, The Drinky Crow Show and the Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!.

The pair have also recorded a charity single for Red Nose Day and co-headlined the Oddball & Curiosity Festival. Considered to have a worldwide cult following, the Flight of the Conchords are now a popular choice for events across the globe. Playing acoustic guitar, with the addition of the parlour guitar and the classical guitar, the pair of widely enjoyed across the folk genre.
